For years you've dreamed of being up there, above it all... above the pain, trouble, noise and pollution of earth. You've spent nights lying on the grass gazing up at the stars, hoping, praying that perhaps by sheer will, they will come a little closer to where you are. As time goes on, the stars seem to move further and further away... becoming little dots in the sky that used to bring you great joy and filled your heart with yearning and hope.

Just when the stars had just about lost all their gleam; and the embrace of sensibility and practicality became inevitable... you see a break! No matter how infinitesimal a chance it seems, you grasp it with both hands and drive towards maybe, somehow achieving your dreams.

The design of the rocket is nearly done and you pour all of your strength into it. It's been awhile since you talked to Mama or hung out with the gang, but you're sure they're fine: The rocket needs all the time you can give... eat, sleep, build... Monday through Sunday.

Finally your toil bears fruit and it's time to launch. You look out through the porthole at the empty field below. Did everyone forget it was today, or did you forget everyone till today? You brush away glum thoughts and think to yourself, "Today I'll be sailing above the clouds!"

The countdown starts... 10... 9... 8...

Suddenly, you think to yourself,

"What if something goes wrong? What if I'm blown clear out of the sky and I never get to see other worlds? What if I lose everything... even the things I never really thought I needed: Mama, Papa... friends"

... 7... 6... 5...

You bow your head to whisper a little prayer, but...

4... 3...

You remember... the beggar you passed by so you could save a little more money for the thrusters... the Sundays you skipped church to spend in the workshop... the dusty Bible sitting in a lonely corner of your room

Will He listen to me now? When I forgot the One I should yearn for above all?
